Ceramics for people with good taste
A LITTLE ABOUT US
Glad to see you!
Hi! My name is Tia.
I make ceramics just outside of Cambridge, New Zealand, out of an old cow dairy. I used to be a lawyer and didn't really love that (to say the least), so I packed up my life and moved to Europe to become a tour guide. I met my (now) husband in Egypt and we decided to stop travelling (after 5 years) and settle down. After the birth of my first child, I finally tried pottery (something I'd always wanted to do but never quite had time - you could say it was always calling me though). And that was it, I was in love. It was around the time of my wedding when I was first sampling pottery, and I was in love with my bouquet and wanted to find a way to preserve it forever. I started hand building and pressing the flowers into the clay and my style grew from there. Flowers and clay; what a great combination!
And here I am, making pottery and pressing flowers, on a dairy farm in rural New Zealand and loving it (btw I'm actually an Aussie).
